IoT based active electricity measurements from Schneider energy meters based on ModBus and the RS485 protocol
This company has a power cabinet offering electricity to some companies in the neighbourhood. Our objective is to measure the active electricity consumption in order to automate the billing process done in FileMaker. In this case our IoT board reads 6 electricity meters of the type iEM3250 from Schneider via a ModBus cable using the RS485 protocol. These measurements are send to our cloud based database server offering the following features:
- Daily active consumption overview
- Ability to introduce the provider reference and a kWh price
- Monthly consumption and cost
- API that delivers the active consumption and cost per energy meter for usage in a billing system
